There are many operative method for the treatment of ACL insufficiency. But many problem including late laxity, patello-femoral problem, late degeneration persist.
We follow up the 11 cases of operatively treated ACL insufficiency for more than 6 month and the results are'as follows:
1) The interstitial rupture can be put in good repair because in majority the posterolateral bundle is intact.(Type IIa)
2) Simple repair need long external immobilization and resulted late laxity.
3) ACL reconstruction by PTB alone is succesful even though thereare some laxity in 6 years follow up.
4) In prosthesis augumented group, the rehabilitation is rapid and less laxity is noted.
